FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Pricing, scope, technology, contracts, what we will and won't build. If something isn't here, ask on the fit call.

Pricing & packages

Cost, contracts, and what's included.

How much do your packages cost?

Front Desk Assistant: $297/month — voice AI agent (inbound + outbound), website chatbot, SMS automation, email automation, unlimited usage (fair use). Front Desk + Growth: $497/month — everything in Front Desk Assistant plus unlimited social posting (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, LinkedIn), Facebook Ads Manager, and Google Local Service Ads management (ad spend not included). Enterprise/Custom available for multi-location, fractional CAIO, MCP server builds — quoted on call.

What does "unlimited usage" actually cover?

Unlimited within reasonable business use. A typical SMB — single location, normal call/message volume — will never hit a limit. We explicitly call this out: "Excessive automated traffic or commercial reselling subject to review." If you're a high-volume call center, you're an enterprise customer and we'll quote you a custom plan.

Is ad spend included in the $497 Growth package?

No. Ad spend is paid directly to Meta/Google. We manage the campaigns, optimize them, and report — but the media budget is yours. Google LSA typically runs $10–$15 per qualified lead for service businesses. Facebook Ads is pay-per-click; performance varies significantly by vertical and creative.

What's a vertical upgrade?

For restaurants, dental, and healthcare, we add specialized integrations on top of the Front Desk Assistant base. Restaurant: $499 setup + $399/mo for POS integration (Toast/Square/Clover/Olo). Dental: $799 setup + $499/mo for PMS integration (OpenDental/Dentrix/Eaglesoft/Curve). Healthcare: $1,499 setup + $799/mo for EHR-integrated, BAA-backed deployment.

What's your cancellation policy?

The Front Desk packages are month-to-month after a 90-day commit (we need that long to tune). Workflow automation projects are fixed-price, fixed-scope — you pay for the build, then own it. Fractional CAIO is 3-month minimum, monthly thereafter. Setup fees are non-refundable.

Do you mark up platform fees (Zapier, OpenAI, etc.)?

No. Pass-through at cost. Every proposal discloses the expected platform costs for the workflow we're building — Zapier task counts, Make ops, OpenAI tokens, voice minute charges. You pay those vendors directly where possible, or we reimburse-bill at cost.

Scope & engagement

What we build and what we won't.

Will you tell me AI isn't the right answer?

Yes — and we do, regularly. About 1 in 5 fit calls and audits ends with us recommending against an AI engagement, usually because the underlying process is broken or because the volume doesn't justify the build. We'd rather lose the project than ship something that fails in six months.

What won't you build?

Three categories: (1) Outbound voice campaigns to cold-purchased lists. (2) Replacement of licensed-professional judgment — agents giving medical, legal, or financial advice. (3) AI that can move money, send irreversible communications, or modify production systems without a human-in-the-loop confirmation step in front of the irreversible action.

Do you have references?

Yes, on request, after a fit call. We don't publish a client list — most SMB clients prefer privacy.

How quickly can you start?

Front Desk Assistant: 2–3 weeks from signed proposal to live. Workflow automation: 1–6 weeks depending on scope. Custom agents: 4–10 weeks. Fit call to signed proposal usually inside one week.

Do you take engagements outside Virginia?

Yes. We're Virginia-based but remote-first. Most engagements are remote. We travel for fractional CAIO clients and for large initial deployments — travel billed at cost.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes — mutual NDAs as standard. For healthcare engagements we sign BAAs. Contracts are short and in plain English. We work off a one-page master service agreement and per-engagement statements of work.

Technology & security

What we use. How we secure it.

What platforms do you build on?

Voice AI: GoHighLevel, Vapi, Retell, ElevenLabs depending on use case. LLMs: Anthropic Claude (default), OpenAI when the use case demands it. Workflow: Zapier, Make.com, n8n, Pipedream, custom Node/Python. Hosting: Railway, Fly.io, your own infrastructure where preferred.

How is my data handled?

Encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). We don't train on your data. We sign mutual NDAs and, for healthcare, BAAs. Access logs are maintained on PHI-bearing systems. We use the strictest applicable retention policy — 90 days default on call recordings, configurable to your policy.

Are you HIPAA-compliant?

HIPAA compliance is a posture, not a checkbox — and it lives at the deployment. For healthcare engagements, we deploy on BAA-eligible voice and LLM vendors (Twilio under BAA, OpenAI Enterprise with BAA, Anthropic Enterprise where applicable), sign a BAA with your practice, configure minimum-necessary PHI handling, and provide documentation suitable for your security officer's review.

Do you support SOC 2 / ISO 27001 / state privacy laws?

We're not SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified as a firm (we're a one-principal practice — those certifications are scoped to org-of-record systems we don't operate). For enterprise engagements requiring formal certifications, we partner with certified subprocessors and document the data flow for your security review. We comply with applicable state privacy laws (CCPA, CMIA, VCDPA, etc.) on the deployments we build.

What happens if I want to leave?

You own the data, the configurations, the call recordings, the CRM records. We hand off documentation, runbooks, and access. No lock-in beyond the natural switching cost of "you'd need to rebuild this somewhere." We give you the keys.

About the firm

Who you're actually talking to.

Who builds the work?

James Parascand is the principal. The person you talk to on the fit call is the person who scopes it, builds it, and answers when something breaks. For larger engagements we bring in contract specialists — disclosed in the proposal.

What's James's background?

Virginia notary public (with a medical-notary specialty), Remote Online Notarization (RON) certified, licensed life-insurance producer, and operator of a portfolio of Virginia service businesses. The other Parascand businesses are why the consulting works — we don't talk about SMB operations theoretically. More on the About page.

How long has Parascand Consulting been operating?

The consulting practice was formalized in 2026 as the AI arm of the Parascand portfolio of businesses. The operational track record — notary, insurance, deal sourcing, sports contracts — extends back further.

Is this an agency or a firm?

A consulting firm. The distinction matters: agencies sell hours and deliverables; consulting firms sell judgment and outcomes. We're scoped to fixed-price engagements with clear outcomes, not retainers-for-the-sake-of-retainers.
